Master essential bass guitar techniques
In Point Blank's unique Bass Skills - Level 1 course, you’ll learn essential techniques that will help you translate your musical ideas to the electric bass guitar. Teach your fingers to play basslines, scales, grooves, and even chords before learning popular songs and writing your own walking basslines. This ten-week course meets for two hours per week, and is taught by professional bass instructors in small class sizes of 16 students or less. An electric bass guitar is required to take this program. Amplifiers and all other equipment you will need are provided on campus. If you decide to buy additional equipment, we will be happy to facilitate student discounts for you with leading industry partners.
For each 10-week course in musicianship, piano, guitar, or bass, classes normally meet once per week for 2 hours on a weekday in one of the following timeslots:
Class schedules are confirmed and released two weeks prior to the start of each quarter. Please call (323) 594-8740 for the most up-to-date information on scheduling and class availability. Our facilities are also open for student use from six to seven days a week, giving you valuable time in the studio to practice your musicianship or instrumental exercises and reinforce your new skills outside of class sessions.

Yes. Classes are usually available in the evening and on weekends, and we will be happy to arrange a class schedule that works around your other professional commitments. International students have different options for attending pointblank classes depending on their country of origin. These include the B2 visitor visa, the ESTA visa waiver program, and more. We do not offer F or M student visas at this time.
