Overview

Learn to how professional singers do it with our six-month Vocal Musicianship Award program. You’ll be taught in small groups to maximize your learning potential in two college-level courses, Vocal Musicianship - Levels 1 and 2. As a graduate you’ll come away with the power to deliver great vocal performances on stage or in the studio, and you'll join a global alumni community with the likes of Point Blank London graduate and X-Factor winner Leona Lewis. Learn from pro singers in small groups of 10 students or less, and get the benefit of focused instruction in vocal musicianship, ear training, sight-reading, music theory, and more.

Daniel Brummel

Linda Good

Jaron Lopez

FAQs

What equipment do I need to buy?

None at all! Every pointblank student has access to their own fully-equipped workstation in class and during their practical studio work outside of class time. If you decide to purchase equipment for your own home studio, we will be happy to help you arrange student discounts from our leading industry partners including Apple, Ableton, Pioneer, Native Instruments, Serato, Izotope, Waves, and more.

When are the classes scheduled?

For each 10-week course in musicianship, piano, guitar, or bass, classes normally meet once per week for 2 hours on a weekday in one of the following timeslots:

  • 10:00am – 12:00pm (Morning Session)
  • 12:00pm – 2:00pm (Noon Session)
  • 2:30pm – 4:30pm (Afternoon Session)

Class schedules are confirmed and released two weeks prior to the start of each quarter. Please call (323) 594-8740 for the most up-to-date information on scheduling and class availability. Our facilities are also open for student use from six to seven days a week, giving you valuable time in the studio to practice your musicianship or instrumental exercises and reinforce your new skills outside of class sessions.
